Nalar VS Logika

The Future of The History of The Philosophy of Science

The modern scientific method is built upon the work of all of these great philosophers. Whilst a scientist may believe that they are following the methods of Kuhn or Popper, there is also a tribute to Aristotle, Avicenna or Bacon in their work.Ironically, many scientists have not heard of any of these philosophers and blindly use the scientific method, without realizing how it grew and developed. In terms of the direction of the philosophy of science, the most recent philosophers concentrate upon trying to define the very nature of science, as boundaries between the various fields blur and the amount of poorly constructed pseudoscience and junk science grows exponentially. The history of the philosophy of science is added to daily, and the next revolution in scientific thought may be just around the corner.

History of the Philosophy Of Science

For centuries, the history of the philosophy of science has been important for plotting the course of human endeavor. Until the 18th and 19th centuries, there was no real distinction between scientist and philosopher, and many of the great scientist-philosophers of antiquity were also theologians.Science gave philosophy a way of empirically testing theories and concepts, whilst philosophy has helped to develop the scientific method used today.Philosophy also dictates what areas science can and cannot test, delineating the boundary between physical and metaphysical questions. These boundaries and the rules governing research have developed over the centuries, and philosophy and science are intertwined. The history of the philosophy of science shows the development of the underlying methodology and foundations of the scientific process, and shaped science, as we know it today.Science could not exist without philosophy, and even the experiments underway in the Large Hadron Collider owe homage to Aristotle, Bacon and Kuhn.

Psychic Intuition

Psychic intuition is an ability we all have.Intuition is just a term we use when we know something, but cannot explain how we know it. (Often the knowledge itself gained through intuition is vague.)Psychologists call it 'intuition' when our subconscious extracts information from the vast amounts of data our minds have gathered, and psychics call it 'psychic intuition' when our consciousness connects with a baser reality and presents us a gleam of information from there. (For practical purposes, 'intuition' and 'psychic intuition' are the same.)A psychic has to be able to assume two different attitudes towards psychic intuition: Sometimes it is enough to trust your own psychic intuition and go along with it, while sometimes it is more important to find out where the intuition came from.Through practice, the psychic is able to balance the two attitudes towards psychic intuition. Depending on the situation, both attitudes may lead the psychic to greater insights.A master psychic can expand his or her consciousness both ways and improves the process of psychic intuition to the point of surety.

Psychic Psychology?

The psychic field and the field of psychology both deal with the domain of the mind and have a lot in common.Psychology is a scientific field which lies somewhere between biology and sociology. Biology is more materialistic, sociology is more easily observable. Since the human psyche is both rational and irrational, psychology is a bit 'off' as a science and has difficuly in measuring and objectifying.Unfortunately, the psychic field is closer to superstition than to science (due to its lack of objective structure). Its strength and weakness lies in the fact that every psychic basically has to reinvent the whole field from scratch - in this sense, the psychic field is actually a discipline.Study of psychology has much to contribute to the development of a psychic - and vice versa, psychic introspection has much to contribute to the understanding of a psychologist.Whatever path you choose to follow, keep an open mind.
